Full Description: The villa is only 30 minute drive north of Central Seminyak, approximately a 45 minute drive to Bali’s international airport. The Ahimsa Garden Villa was built in traditional Balinese style which is evident with the use of bamboo, coconut, re-cycled iron wood, tamarind and teak woods. The traditional roof of “alang-alang” (grass thatch) also brings one back to the bygone days. The enchanting garden and ponds are with indigenous tropical flora and fauna with waste-water bio-systems that treat and re-cycle grey water for irrigation. There is on-site composting, re-cycling and waste management with a low to no chemical ozone system swimming pool. Any carbon footprint from this villa is off-set by sustainable tree planting too.
One enters the villa into a boat-like shaped bamboo façade living area with comfortable interior design of wooden furniture and connected to a large dining area that can easily seat 14 people. Here everyone can meet for meals prepared in the nearby enormous kitchen that is fully equipped with ample modern appliances and amenities. The gourmet cook is “extraordinaire” for her knowledge of healthy dishes of local origin or international cuisine that are prepared to excel any restaurant in Bali using organically grown and ayurvedic food. (No exaggeration too).
Ahimsa Garden Villa’s large grounds can support the separate bedroom structures guaranteeing privacy for its guests with 7 independent bedrooms (all with air-conditioning) of circular shapes (sacred chakra colors), indoor/outdoor bathrooms, wardrobe area and verandahs with each bedroom structure. Above the living area is situated a large TV area with a balcony- verandah overlooking the entire complex and beyond to stretching ocean views. Adjoining to this room is a large bedroom and connected to this structure, across a bamboo bride another bedroom is located. Throughout the remaining property are scattered ponds and walkways meandering to the other bedrooms structures, where one discovers spaces created for retreat with most of the bedrooms facing ocean views.
The second boat shaped structure harbors a master bedroom with the same style but even more spacious and direct sea views. The interiors are thoughtfully and tastefully designed with rattan pieces, comfortable sitting areas exuding a natural feeling that blends with the basic architectural design. Tibetan hand painted mandala thankas adorn the walls with themes of meditative peacefulness in harmony with the theme of Ahimsa Garden Villa. The swimming pool area is another meeting area for guests as it flanks directly to the beach and ocean. There is a large poolside lounge area with connecting second pool dining area with kitchen and sitting area. This is ideal for afternoon tea, lunch or peaceful sunset gatherings. To the far corner is a massage bale (pavilion) for the therapeutic massages that can be arranged with professional masseurs.
The training of the staff and service at Ahimsa Garden Villa is based on the philosophy of the villa, and also with an experienced understanding of the needs of guests visiting Bali, and even more. There is an onsite manager to directly communicate any requests from guests and arrange outings such as cycling, surfing, fishing and cultural tours. There are fishing villages nearby and the surfing is located in this area of Bali too.
The well-trained staff which include 2 cooks, 6 maids, 2 gardeners, and 4 nights security (baby -sitting can be arranged upon request). A large office space is located in a lower area near the living area where guests can use the computer if needed. Amenities such as wireless broadband, cable TV, DVD and an I Pod system are also available at the villa.
